In Which We Try Something

I've decided I must have a writer's group. The sooner the better. I know many of the people that read this journal are far and wide, but, I'm trying to see if this social networking business can work for me. So, should you know someone in Boston who has written a book, and like me, needs to share it with other writers ASAP, pass on this post, or otherwise point them in my direction.

Here's what I'm looking for:

Writers who want feedback. Preferably novelists (would-be like me especially, but someone who's published before would be great). People who can give and take criticism with equal measure. I'd love the chance to share longer projects. I'd like a group that meets once a week or so, and can be encouraging, honest (above all else), and constructive. Speaking of being honest, I'd really rather not hear the phrase, "I've never written before." That's a red flag.  Okay, so, if you know someone who writes, lives in Boston (or close enough to get to it regularly) and wants to be my super-cool new writing friend, send them my way. They can reply to this post with an email, and we'll see what happens.

Fingers crossed that something comes of this!
