Adide from the determination to keep working on Smashing until it's right, I'm at a bit of a crossroads in terms of my writing. I've been working sporadically lately on an old young adult project, but, I finished what amounts to a first draft - as soon as I type out all the bits in my notebook. In other words, the discovery part is (for now) over. I know why that kid was hanging around in my subconcious. Actually, it's a pretty good story. It surprised me. It's just not a novel, yet. It's not long enough. It could shape up to something more substantial but I'm sort of losing interest in it, I think I need to turn to something else.

I just don't know what.

I have so many projects in progress, but I think what I need is a new idea. Something I haven't worked on before.

Which is always easeir said then done. Seriously, sometimes I wonder if I've had a new idea since middle school. I mean, I have, clearly, but, I hold on to things and I go back to them. It's hard to let stories or characters I like go. I know I should let some of my old projects go, if not all them. But that would be like admitting I'm not always as brilliant as I tell everyone I am.

Cause in case you missed it, I think I'm pretty awesome. And will tell you so repeatedly. Even after you say, "Please, I get it, shut up," and promise me presents.
