Christmas Eve Will Find Me...

Sweet Hostess Cupcakes! Has anyone looked out the window in the last hour? I feel like I'm caught inside a snowglobe. Very Twilight Zone. Like any second a gigantic little girl with an unearthy giggle will pick up the whole place and shake us like a baby with a bitter British nanny.

Anyway, so I'm happy to report that for a mear 100 dollars and change I got the last of my shopping done Sunday morning. This is good. This means I can stop obsessing about what I'll do about gifts. Sadly, I would have like to buy everyone something more, but I stuck to my budget. Even with my nephew, I haven't gone over my pre-set spending limit. I got him two good gifts, and then a boat-load of small books and toys.

On a side note, I love buying toys. Almost as much as I like buying books, which is my all-time favorite spending hobby. I wish I could have bought out the toy section of WalMart - they had some really cool toys. Also on Sunday, I wanted to go a little nuts in Linens and Things, but since the "things" I wanted to buy were for people I had already bought for and for me, I put everything down, and managed to get out of the store for only two dollars and sixty-three cents. That might be a record. I'll have you know that passing up the SpongeBob SquarePants bath mitten was tough - my nephew could have totatlly used that.

Anyway, now I can't wait for Friday. I'm going a little batty just thinking about it. I'm so happy my sister is coming home. We haven't spend Christmas together in.... well, years. I know we fight like cats and dogs when we're together, but I miss her when she's not around.

I'm in full planning mode for my family's some-what annual Christmas Eve Extravaganza. I just have to make it through the next three work days.

Holy Mother of Stevie Wonder, I've got to get back to work!
